PRS Private Stock & Cosmo Collection Guitars – Demo Review with Rob Vendrasco
Personally Crafted Instruments

And it's not just guitars, they've got some great amps at PRS. Their Archon, their Sonzera, their HDRX. Their new pedal line the Mary Cries, the Horse Meat, and the Wind Through Trees...there's lots of awesome stuff from Paul Reed Smith.

PRS Santana Retro 10-Top Electric Guitar - Santana Yellow
Carlos Santana's longstanding creative partnership with Paul Reed Smith has done much to shape the destiny of PRS Guitars. The Santana Retro pays homage to the early "Pre-Factory" guitars Paul built for Carlos in the early 1980's. Several unique design elements are reintroduced on this model, including a deeper body carve, original style heel, and the original headstock shape and nut placement. The Santana Retro blends history and modern manufacturing to create a highly musical guitar good enough for the man himself.
- Solidbody, Top Wood Maple

You can see what's really specialized about this are where the tone controls and the and the pickup selector are. They are way down here, so it's a very custom guitar and it pays homage to the pre-factory Paulie Reed Smith Guitars that he built.
PRS 35th Anniversary Custom 24 10-Top Electric Guitar - Aquamarine
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.
- PRS Patented Tremolo
- Machined Meticulous design delivering sonic fidelity, player ergonomics, and revolutionary tuning stability
- PRS Phase III Locking Tuners
- Modern locking technology with vintage elegance, these tuners promote tone transfer for a louder, more resonant instrument
- PRS 85/15 Pickups

My favourite feature on this 35th Anniversary are these micro switches. I love micro switches because they're so simple...with the toggle switchcraft, it’s really super simple to swap between the pickups. The volume controls are in a nice position and it's very easy to reach.
Hey, it's Rob from Cosmo Music! We've got some PRS guitars that we'd like to showcase for you.
So, the ones I've chosen are the, Custom 24, the Studio, the Santana and A private stock. So, here's a custom 24 with what's called a 10 top. So, you see this beautiful figuring here, it's really high-end it's the top quality of top that they put on the guitar and when I refer to the top it's this. It's a maple cap. It's a piece of maple on top of a mahogany body. Beautiful figuring on it. Nice straight lines. What's a cap? So, a cap you can see here. You can see the two different types of wood. So, this darker brown wood. Here is the mahogany and they do what's called a violin curve, so it's like nicely carved. This was a big chunk of maple with this nice sort of figuring and they carve that they give it this nice carve you can see here. This will give you an idea of the thickness of the of the maple it's referred to as the cap. Maple cap up here, generation three, tremolo phase three tuning machines. And my favorite feature on this 35th Anniversary are these micro switches. I love micro switches they're so simple. I love this big switch craft toggle switch. It’s really super simple to to swap between the pickups. The volume controls are in a nice position here you know it's very easy to reach. This double cut here gives you great access to the to the higher Frets here. It's a real player's guitar and it's also a guitar that you love to look at too. It’s super gorgeous.

Here's a guitar that Paulie Smith is very famous for a building. It's the Carlos Santana model. So, this is the Carlos Santana retro like the Custom 24. It has a maple cap not a veneer. It's a maple cap, a nice big chunk of maple on top of beautiful figuring. A mahogany body and you can see what's really specialized about this are where the tone controls and the and the pickup selector are. There way down here you know I guess so it's a very custom guitar and it pays homage to the pre-factory Paulie Reed Smith Guitars that he built.

So, you see these come in beautiful finish this is in a Cobalt smoke burst. Again, you see that beautiful figuring in the cap that we were talking about before. Three pickup model so narrow field humbuckers and a 58 15 Bridge pickup. Just another beautiful looking guitar.

So, this is a private stock Paulie Reed Smith that was commissioned by our procurement team. Do you know what a procurement team is? I always thought they did nails, but anyway this was a collaboration with our procurement team and Paul Reed Smith and you can see it's an absolutely stunning, stunning guitar. You know all around it looks amazing from all sides, all angles. You know even like that too it looks amazing and like that but yeah it's an absolutely stunning guitar. Back in the neck again. Avatar. Do you see what I mean? The Finish (on the tuners) breath I believe. Yeah, um cocobola fingerboard swamp ash. Body Maple top. Now that's a quilted Maple so it almost looks like waves on the water. It's not almost…it does look like waves on the water it's absolutely stunning.

So, I was just recently at a PRS factory tour and I got to see some new stuff that I'm not allowed to talk about. I'm told if I talk about it, I'll even be haunted in the afterlife. They've got some great amps, I mean their Archon, their Sonzera, their HDRX. Their new pedal line the Mary Cries, the Horse Meat, and the Wind Through Trees there's lots of awesome stuff from Paul Reed Smith.
